Coinbase® Extension®

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has pledged to sell 2% of his company stake to fund life extension startup NewLimit and other ventures.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, here are the general steps to set up the Coinbase Wallet extension on your computer via Chrome. Keep in mind that there might be updates or changes, so it's always a good idea to refer to the latest documentation provided by Coinbase.

Steps to Set Up Coinbase Wallet Extension on Chrome:

  1. Install the Coinbase Wallet Extension:

    • Open the Chrome browser on your computer.

    • Go to the Chrome Web Store.

    • In the search bar, type "Coinbase Wallet" and press Enter.

    • Locate the official Coinbase Wallet extension and click on "Add to Chrome" to install it.

  2. Open the Extension:

    • After installation, you should see the Coinbase Wallet extension icon in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser.

    • Click on the extension icon to open the wallet.

  3. Create a New Wallet or Import an Existing Wallet:

    • If you don't have a Coinbase Wallet, you'll likely be prompted to create one. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your wallet, including creating a strong password and securely storing your recovery phrase.

    • If you already have a Coinbase Wallet or a recovery phrase from a previous wallet, you can choose the option to import an existing wallet. Enter your recovery phrase to regain access to your wallet.

  4. Secure Your Wallet:

    • Follow any additional security steps provided by the Coinbase Wallet extension, such as setting up two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security.

  5. Explore Features:

    • Once your wallet is set up, you can explore the features provided by the Coinbase Wallet extension. This may include sending and receiving cryptocurrencies, viewing transaction history, and managing wallet settings.

  6. Connect to DApps (Decentralized Applications):

    • Coinbase Wallet often allows users to connect to decentralized applications (DApps) directly through the extension. This enables you to interact with blockchain-based applications seamlessly.

  7. Keep Your Software Updated:

    • Regularly check for updates to the Coinbase Wallet extension. Keeping your software up-to-date is crucial for security and ensures access to the latest features.

Remember to follow security best practices, such as keeping your recovery phrase secure, using strong, unique passwords, and enabling any additional security features provided by the extension.

If you encounter any issues or need more specific instructions, refer to the official Coinbase documentation or contact Coinbase support for assistance.
